Welcome Back!

Hello!  Welcome to my site.  It is my hope that this site will improve communication, clarify assignments/requirements, provide resources, and hopefully, include things you will find interesting.

I plan on listing topics we'll be discussing in class, as well as, identifying assignment due dates and upcoming quizzes and/or tests.  Your child's agenda book remains the best place start when determining whether an assignment is due.  I do try to make it to every student and sign off on their agenda book, indicating the assignment was written accurately.  As the year progresses, I will continue to modify and develop this site in an effort to provide updated information that will help your child have a successful year in social studies.

Have a great school year and I look forward to seeing you at Back to School Night.

Mr. Storch

9/7/11

It's been a productive two days.  The kids have been doing a great job, adjusting to new schedules, new teachers, new lockers... In addition to discussing classroom procedures, we also discussed how marking period grades are broken down.  These are the breakdowns:

6th Grade:

 HW = 10%

TESTS = 20%

QUIZZES = 20%

CLASSWORK = 20%

PARTICIPATION = 15%

STUDENT CHOICE = 15%

 7th Grade:

HW = 10%

TESTS = 20%

QUIZZES = 20%

CLASSWORK = 20%

PARTICIPATION = 10%

STUDENT CHOICE = 20%

Homework for both grades this week includes having textbooks covered and notebooks together for Monday, the 12th.  Notebooks should be a 3 ring binder or section of a 3 ring binder reserved for social studies.  Binders should also include a pocket folder.
